Dr. Daniel Dea
Dr. Daniel Dea is ABIM Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Diseases, and Critical Care Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians.
His practice includes outpatient primary care and pulmonary consultations, as well as inpatient internal medicine , hospitalist, pulmonary consultant and intensivist duties. He is on active staff at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center and serves as the Chair of the Pulmonary Section and the Chair of the ICU Committee.
Dr. Dea's medical interests include asthma, COPD, sleep apnea, primary pulmonary hypertension, and critical care illnesses such as severe sepsis and COVID. Dr. Dea is skilled in intubation, central line placement, arterial line placement, thoracentesis and bronchoscopy. Dr. Dea has experience and training in ECMO and Neurocritical care. He is actively involved in the Intensivist, Hospitalist, and Comprehensive Stroke programs at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center.
Dr. Dea is experienced in seeing pulmonary consultations for work-related injuries under Workman's Compensation for illnesses that include - Reactive Airways Dysfunction/Asthma/COPD due to inhalation lung injury, and pulmonary issues due to post-COVIID syndrome.
Dr. Dea received his undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Berkeley and his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine. He did his residency in Internal Medicine with the UCLA - San Fernando Program (VA Sepulveda and Olive View Medical Center) and he did his fellowship in Pulmonary/Critical Care at the UCLA combined program. (UCLA Westwood, VA West LA, Olive View, VA Sepulveda) He has been in solo private practice since 1998 at the current address.

Our Services

Our office is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, although Dr. Dea's office hours may vary. Please call to get his schedule from the office staff. Our office staff is fluent in Spanish and Armenian. We have a live person answering the phone at all times when the office is open. We use the Transmed electronic medical records system.
The office is located at 2701 West Alameda Avenue, Suite 601, Burbank, CA 91505 (corner of Alameda and Naomi, across the street from Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center.
Our office staff can perform: IM injections such as vaccines and biologic medications, EKG, pulse oximetry/six minute walk, suture/staple removal.
Dr. Dea is on staff at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, California and he will round on any of his patients who are admitted there. He also rounds at Burbank Healthcare, Four Seasons, and Windsor Gardens skilled nursing homes and will see any of his patients admitted to those facilities.
The building provides handicapped parking with direct access to the lobby.
After hours, we use a voicemail system by Utility Telephone which provides easy access to Dr. Dea or the on call doctor in the case of an emergency or urgent matter. There is also an option to leave a non-urgent voicemail for the office.
We accept Medicare, Medicare Advantage Plans, and most PPO insurances. We can see HealthCare Partners/Optum and Lakeside/Regal HMO patients for pulmonary specialty care with a referral from a primary care provider. We can see pulmonary consultations under Workman's Compensation insurance with authorization.
